On Monday we worked on a Family Tree. I had a 12x12 scrapbook page of a family tree, so we named all the people on it and are still gathering all the pictures. 2 projects in one...getting a scrapbook page done, and learning in the process.
In Math, we used coins and buttons to sort things by color, size, shape, and number of holes.
And in Science we made butter! We jumped up and down when we could see the butter starting to form. That was so much fun and SO yummy!!! If you have never done this it is so easy; Pour a pint of heavy cream into a jar and cover tightly. Let your child shake the jar. As the butter forms, pour off the milk and add a little salt.

Hi! Just wanted to comment on homeschooling. I homeschooled my daughter, Megan, during K and half of first grade. We used a Christian curriculum called A Beka. THEN I found out I was gonna be blessed with a 3rd child. Because of a difficult pregnancy, I had to put her in Public School for the last half of 1st grade. Then this year in 2nd and older son started K. Reading your blog makes me want to take them out tomorrow. I miss it so much! But it would be 2 kids in school and a 3 month old baby. Kinda scary!! And A beka was a really hard and time consuming curriculum. Do you use a curriculum?

I am using Learn at Home, A total curriculum. I got it on Half.com for near nothing! It has a full weeks curriculum. The only bad thing is that it is not Bible based. I have to weave that in. If the Lord allows me to keep doing this, I will go with AOP (Alpha-Omega) curriculum. You need to check out www.Titus2.com website. She has so many good idea's for teaching with little ones around! I do school while my baby is napping.
