Are you ready for some football????

Clemson, what happened????????????? (Me screaming out on my knees pulling my hair with both hands) I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE college football. And I am for my Tigers even if they loose. But I HATE to see them loose a game. It just STINKS!!! I LOVE my Saturday nights at home watching the game and eating chips and tailgate food. My parents came over and we had a great time waiting for kick off. And I also LOVE watching my hubby watch college football. He is normally so easy going....until a good game is on TV. And then he is jumping up and down and yelling at the TV. He will holler and jump up even if the girls are in bed and it's 12:00pm!! He LOVES a good game. And so do I, I am just as bad. Love my Tigers even if they lost tonight.

The Shack by William P. Young

Oh my gosh!! If you want a really good read, you HAVE to check out this book!!

First of all, let me start by giving you some background on what the book is about:
Mack's youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and is thought to have been brutally murdered. Evidence has been found in an old shack deep in the wilderness. Years later after dealing with his Great Sadness he gets a note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for the weekend.

After his better judgment he goes. And walks into his greatest nightmare. What he finds and the things he learns will change him forever.

However, I never thought about what changed him, would also change me. It made me re-think things that I do unconsciously. And a huge lesson in forgiveness. I am not one to hold a grudge but I never thought about forgiveness to much either. I have seen parents in the news before who lost a child and forgave the murder. I never thought I could have that kind of strength. But after reading this book I now understand what forgiveness really is.

Every page is a page turner. You can't wait to get to the next page. And every page is a new lesson about your Faith and the 3-in-1. I LOVE this book!!!

Thank you Jill for letting me borrow it!!! I am so greatful to you for sharing!!!

Singing in the rain

What a fun rainy day it was yesterday. We had a really good morning watching cartoons and snuggling. Then as usual, Lily put on her princess outfit and played. Laci and I hung out in the kitchen and laundry room. Got a good bit of the mundane stuff done. Still, the work is never done. And I think since I have figured that out...it has taken the stress of getting everything done RIGHT NOW away. Now, I spend time one-on-one with my kids instead of stressing over the little things.

I let Lily go outside in the rain in her princess dress, rain boots, and new umbrella. She was not crazy about her dress getting wet. And she wanted to come back in. It was cute and I had to get some pictures of her with the umbrella. Thanks Uncle Jeffrey and Brantlee for the cute umbrella!!

Then we came in and washed up to make marshmellow delights. I let Lily count out the 8 marshmellows and do all the dipping. Then I rolled them in the crescent rolls and dipped them. We had lunch while they baked and after lunch, we sampled our work. We LOVED them!! Thanks Abby for posting such a great recipe!!! Can't wait to try some of your others.

After lunch Lily ASKED if she could take a nap!!! So she napped (and slept the night) in her Dora The Explorer tent in her room. Thanks again Uncle Jeffrey and Brantlee!!! She LOVES that tent!! I let her sleep as long as she wanted b/c we were having tornado warnings all over the place. I was a nervous praying wreck. I just thought it was best for her to sleep and not see me worrying about the weather. And with it dark and rainy...I wanted to take a nap myself!!!

Thank God the tornado did not come our way. But the pictures on the news of places just minutes from us, looked really bad. So glad it skipped over us! My mom and all her co-workers were told to sit in the stairwell. I am glad they all came out okay also!

One more funny story. Last night at supper Lily asked our blessing. And she said the sweetest prayer...but God love her, it was so funny and hard to keep a straight face. She thanked God for the rain and ask him to bless it to the Ribers (rivers) and lakes. And thanked him for letting Nana get out of the tomato (tornado). There was much more, I just can't remember all the things she prayed for last night. I am so proud of her prayers. She is only 3, but can pray for the most adult things. And her little prayers are better than some adults!!!!

God, just keep her close to you and help her to maintain that innocents about her. - Amen.

When it rains...it pours...

I rained today!!! Praise God!!!

On the flip side of that phrase...I mean in my life "When it rains, it pours!!" When we came home Thursday night...we walked into the girls bathroom and found it COVERED in little black ants. YUCK!!!! So, we sprayed and cleaned that night. Well, on Friday I found them in my kitchen. Once again, we sprayed. I cleaned that up to find them in our bathroom. And in Laci's closet and in Lily's toy box! They want just LEAVE US!!! We are still spraying, cleaning, and finding ants to this day!!!

Secondly on Saturday our A/C went out. We turned the unit off and slept with no air that night. Next day after lunch we turned it back on. And Thank God it is running again! We are still not sure for how long or what happened, but it is back on.

Now today after I had washed a load of dishes in the dishwasher, and 3 loads of towels in hot water I went to run my bath...but the water would not get hot. Strange, but I thought maybe the hot water heater had not had time to fill back up. When J got home...I started supper, only to find that HOURS later, still no hot water. Yep, you guessed it....hot water heater is out!!! The part should be here by Wednesday. *Sigh*

And if that don't beat all....we have a darn cricket singing it's song UNDER OUR BED TONIGHT!!!!!!!! If I find that cricket I will stab him with a knife!!!! :) I really am okay. I'm handling all this FUN just fine. No need to worry about me!!! :>]

I have to get to bed. Here it is again...12:00am.

What a day...

Man oh man, we got the stuff!!! I am still trying to un-pack and get laundry done. I am so glad I still have tomorrow. And all of next week, I guess....I just have a need to get things done right away. Well, when it comes to messes. I just can't stand them! I hope my girls are neat freaks...just maybe not as bad as me.

Laci is still feeling pretty yucky. That has not helped me in getting things done. I have held her and rocked a good bit today. I just hope she has a good night and feels better tomorrow!

Lily has been so great today. She is my home-body. She has been so glad to be home and have her toys and dress-up clothes. She has been a wonderful big sister today, helping me and daddy out when Laci has been crying.

We had our church meal together tonight. We left the girls with the in-laws in case it was a meeting. It turned out that kids were there. Oh well. I thought things went really good. I am just very nervous. I don't want to leave the comfort of the friends and our new "old" church behind. I guess we will keep going, one day at a time, and follow the path God has laid before us.

I got a new book today and already have been moved!! Your Girl Raising A Godly Daughter in an UnGodly World by Vicki Courtney. It scares me to death what young girls are faced with today. As a mom of 2 beautiful daughters it is my job to do and teach them all I can. I really will be in a war for her mind, body, and soul. I am getting ready to battle!!!

I also got to do some art project tonight. I started working on a mini-album. If you are a scrapbooker you know what this is! This was a first for me...but I think I am hooked!! I got to paint, paste, cut, and create. All my favorite things!!!

Runny noses and more hotel fun

We are heading home today!!! It has been a fun week, I have to say. We have slept late, had a hot breakfast waiting for us downstairs each morning, along with a great hotel staff who can't wait to see these two girls, fun crafts, and lots of fun in the pool. Not to mention all the snuggling and one on one time I have had with each of the girls this week.

But we are starting to get cabin fever. Today our toys and crafts have been packed up and are in the van...so here we are sitting watching WAYYYYYYY too much T.V.!!! We are going to stay in the hotel until 2pm, then go get lunch and head to a near by park for some much needed play! Then we will go pick up J and head down I-85 to SC.

I have some cute pictures and some pictures of our crafts to show you later. I forgot my cord to the camera...so I can't download them.

On top of the cabin fever...I have 2 sick kiddo's. Lily had a really nasty cold yesterday. And sometime during the night Laci got it. She and I had a really rough night. And an even worse morning. She could not catch her breath so I gave her some saline drops in her nose, which made her sick and she threw-up all over us! She also had a 102 fever. This is the first time she has been sick.

So, good-bye hotel and so long NC!!

Hotel Blues

Leave it up to us to always have drama, no matter where we go. We get to our hotel room yesterday and get checked in. We came up to our room and like we always do, went over the room with a fine tooth comb. Is it clean? Are the sheets clean? Is the bathroom clean? Is the shower clean? And most important, is everybody happy?? We did our normal "walk through". Everybody SEEMED happy. Until my poor hubby had unloaded the van. Okay, let me back up....getting a little head of myself here. We did unload the van, then went to eat. We also drove around and looked at some houses and had to find the Wal-Mart!!! So after we get back to put on PJ's and get the kiddo's ready for bed...that is when we found it. The hidden nasty room we did not see before. Lily had on white socks....until it was bed time. She jumped up in the bed and I fell over with disgust!! Her white socks were BLACK BLACK BLACK!!! That did it for hubby!! We packed it all back up, took what we could back to the van, called another hotel and checked out of this one. Well, sort of....here I go getting ahead of myself again. We can't REALLY check in our new digs until today. So, I am going to be left loading the rest of the things with the 2 kids in tow, finding the new place (Thank you God for GPS!!!) and then un-loading!!! Whew. Now I think you are caught up.

On a lighter note....sleeping in the same bed with a small baby breathing her tiny sweet baby breath in your face all night makes for some good mommy mojo!!! What a blessed family we are!!!
